Housing and healthcare each have their own rules. Use the housing guides for your tenancy, deposit and service costs. Use the healthcare route for insurance and benefits. Temporary protection from Ukraine has a separate healthcare route; it is relevant to that status, not to every visitor.

Questions people ask

Can the employer arrange housing and deduct the cost?

Housing can be arranged through work, but deduction rules and rental protections still apply. Ask for the rental agreement, authorisation and the legal basis of the deduction instead of assuming every payroll charge is allowed.

Can the landlord keep the deposit without explanation?

Ask for the written specification required for deductions. A vague statement that cleaning or administration was needed is not enough to evaluate the charge.

Does a foreign insurance card settle the question?

Not always. An EHIC is not a substitute for checking insurance obligations when you start work or move. Ask the insurer or SVB about your actual residence and work situation.

Can agency workers receive zorgtoeslag?

Employment through an agency does not itself exclude you. The insurance, income, assets and other benefit conditions still have to be met.
