Questions people ask
Why can the calculator and my payslip differ?
The calculator estimates annual income tax. Payroll uses period tables and may include pension, benefits in kind or special arrangements. The annual average can include holiday allowance paid in a separate month. Check the input period and assumptions first.
Does the same hourly floor apply to foreign workers?
The statutory minimum protects employees working in the Netherlands, including foreign employees. Your contract or CAO may provide more. Different arrangements, such as BBL, require their own check.
Is overtime automatically paid at 150%?
No universal 150% rule applies. Check your actual agreement. In the calculator, an extra premium of 50% adds half of the base pay, resulting in 150% total gross pay for those hours.
Can an agency keep my BSN and identity documents?
Employers need specific information for lawful payroll and identity checks, but keep control of your originals and share copies only for a clear purpose. Never publish your BSN or upload it into this website.
